Hoover-Fisher Florist sells more roses than other other single floral variety. We buy many of the flowers we sell direct from the growers. Our team purchases from both domestic and international flower farms. Roses are the most popular flower in the world. Their meaning varies from culture to culture, but they’re generally associated with love and romance. They come in an array of colors, shapes, and sizes—from small, delicate buds to large, showy blooms. These gorgeous blooms are some of the most popular flowers in the world.

Roses are usually divided into three main categories: Old Garden, Damask and Floribunda.

Old Garden Roses are known for their strong fragrance and large blooms. They used to be the most popular type of rose until they were replaced by the hybrid tea roses in the early 20th century.

Damask Roses are known for their large petals with a deeply cut v-shape at the bottom of each petal. They only produce single blooms, but these blooms have an elegant look that makes them perfect for romantic occasions or weddings.

Floribunda Roses are known for their compact growth habit and ability to bloom continuously throughout the season without needing deadheading (cutting off old flowers). Floribunda roses can be either single or semi-double blooms and usually have medium-sized blooms with a strong fragrance.

Roses come in a variety of colors and sizes, and there are thousands of varieties to choose from. Here are some examples:

Pink: Pink roses are the most common type of rose. They’re very popular for weddings because they symbolize love and romance.

Red: Red roses are another common type of rose that symbolizes passion and desire. Red roses are associated with romantic relationships as well as friendship.

White: White roses represent purity, innocence, and virginity. They can be used to express sympathy or as an apology when given to someone who has experienced loss or heartbreak in their lives (such as a death).
